You voted for it: 1975 Lake Buena Vista Restored Home Film!

A few weeks back we presented some home movies filmed by David Coolidge. David was impressed with our restoration work and as a result submitted an additional few films for us to restore. David and his family stayed at the Lake Buena Vista town homes - personally I remember staying in these in 1986. The film is short, but there are some great views of the pool area, architecture and the waterways around.Read More...

Restored souvenir film from 1979 – Attraction Highlights #2

Back when film was expensive and a low percentage of the population actually had a movie camera, Walt Disney World sold souvenir films for you to purchase, take home and watch at your leisure. If your friends happened to be visiting while you enjoyed these films, Disney considered it a win. They were betting that you would take the time to set up the projector, pull down the screen, make popcorn, dim the lights and show…Read More...

A pristine Magic Kingdom from Nov ’71 – Restored Home Movie footage

@BrianPMiles was nice enough to send me a reel of film that he obtained from a garage sale. The film canister said “Florida November ’71” and he took the chance that there was some WDW footage on it. Well his curiosity paid off, sandwiched between visits to Silver Springs and other Florida attractions was pristine footage of the Magic Kingdom in November 1971 – at this point this is the earliest post-opening film of WDW that...Read More...

“The Magic Kingdom at WDW” – 1974 – HD Restored

The Walt Disney Company produced this film in 1974 and sold it on Super8 reels in the park. With a run time just short of 12 minutes we are first taken on an aerial tour of the Magic Kingdom and we visit each land in overview and detail fashion. While silent, the film doesn't need sound to show how wonderful the park was 40 years ago.Read More...

1974 Magic Kingdom Parade – Restored Super8 with Sound in HD

First before we get started, we all need to thank David Coolidge for this fantastic Super8 sound footage from March 1974. David is a client of ours, entrusting Pixcel and our ImageWorks department to transfer and restore his home movies. Along with his wife and two kids, the Coolidge family trekked to Orlando on the Amtrak Autotrain, spent their nights at the Polynesian Village and days at the Magic Kingdom. This is our second film from…Read More...

1978 Super8 Magic Kingdom Home Movie – HD – Restored

A few months back I stumbled upon a 3 minute reel of film on ebay titled "Disney World '78". The seller had no information of what was on the film, so I took a chance and bought it...I kept my fingers crossed that it wasn't laced with character greetings! The short 3 minute film is like most that were taken years ago; The family full of excitement boards the monorail, enters the Magic Kingdom, sees a…Read More...

1975 Super8 Magic Kingdom America on Parade – Restored in HD – Home Movie

This is #4 in our series of restored home movies. From July 20, 1975 comes the Magic Kingdom Parade - Spirit of America. This was shot in Frontierland and shows that the parade was going opposite the normal parade route for that day. Not sure how often that was done... We are having this film scanned and will be updating it with a cleaner restoration once that is complete. The color on this film was pretty…Read More...

1975 Super8 Magic Kingdom – Restored in HD – Tomorrowland Bliss & Swan Boats

This particular piece of film had some nasty issues I had to deal with. For one, there was a massive amount of film grain; this caused compression artifacts in motion areas after the film was scanned and compressed. As a result, I'm sending the reels off to be re-scanned and this time the files sent back to me will be uncompressed, allowing for a much cleaner restoration. The film also did not hold its color as…Read More...

Restored Horizons POV Ride Through – Go Sniff an Orange and Watch This!

This is the first video restoration that we are releasing…We couldn’t think of a better attraction to start with other than Horizons! Martin Smith, whom you all know from his Ultimate Tributes (www.martinsvids.net) was kind enough to send me this footage from June 1990 for enhancement/restoration. A few things before you jump right to the video. Some of you will ask, if this was shot in 1990, why does it look “softer” and less realistic than...Read More...
