  1. Anthony really enjoyed our vacation planning episode and has a question about the WorldKey Information Systems that were found all around EPCOT Center.

Here’s How’s 1989 video that the guys talk about:
  2. Mark wrote us about It’s a Small World and baseballs.
  3. Another Mark says the weirdest place he’s listened to the RetroWDW podcast is in Suzhou, China (The Venice of the East) from within the Humble Administrator’s Garden – one of the locations in the Circlevision film, “Wonders of China”. That’s really cool Mark!
  4. We had lots of emails about our Photography Episode. Y’all really loved it! The guys tease an upcoming episode. Michael sent us some photos he took in WDW with his flip phone in 2007.
  5. Lee writes asks if we have any photos of the cuckoo clock store that was located on the first floor of Cinderella’s Castle or the Elgin Watch and Clock Shop on Main Street USA. Here you go Lee:

Main Topic

Take a deep dive into the music of the original EPCOT Center, including:

  • How the Epcot entrance loop ripped off music from rock bands Alan Parsons Project and Trickster
  • Hear the original, longer version of “Closer to You,” the song from AT&T’s “Age of Information” exhibit that predicted the future with incredible accuracy
  • Composer George Wilkins’ favorite piece of music that he wrote for Epcot
  • The arranger who worked on Bob Moline’s Epcot songs, including “Canada (You’re a Lifetime Journey).” Hint: he went on to compose the music for a Spaceship Earth rehab

Join us as Todd, Brian, JT, How and our listeners reveal their favorite songs from the many eras of Epcot and we reveal behind-the-scenes details about each of them and the beloved attractions they came from.

It just occurred to me that it’s probably a good thing that the podcast is recorded at night because if it was recorded during the day, How would have gone on for at least five hours during either an episode on Pleasure Island or Horizons.
