Kitchen Kabaret Reincarnated…well, sort of…

Our story comes from Storyland in Glen, NH…it is a bit on the frightening side and a blatant rip-off of our beloved Kitchen Kabaret. I’m not sure if I can classify this as an attempt to be cute with food or a good representation of what happens if you had a nightmare where you were trapped in an evil 1986 EPCOT…

Right down to the purple shades, Mr. Broccoli has been given a new life entertaining guests from inside of a portable trailer. The “gang” is all here, at least a copy-cat version Someone’s best remakes of Fiesta Fruits and the Colander Combo… Sadly the ringleader, the tomato w/the mustache has gone missing, replaced by what I can only imagine they call the “Mini-Mato Brothers” or something lame. But the rip-off doesn’t stop at the fruit. What is that chicken doing there, and why does it look just like Gonzo’s chicken, and wait, its name Henrietta, the same! The cow has an uncanny resemblance to the well-known bovine on Sesame Street. The beaming orange in the middle reminds me of some scary-ass trinket you’d pick up at Orange World outside of WDW. And don’t get me started on that, the, whatever it is coming out of the garbage can.

They say that imitation is the truest form of flattery, but in this case, it’s just flat our wrong…  Some things should just be left up to the experts.

We just visited Storyand for the first time this summer. I was listing to the Kitchen Kabaret episode for the first time today and was thinking the whole time, “Wow, this show sounded a lot like that thing at Storyland.” I almost died when you guys mentioned it. I have to say, the Storyland show did entertain a 3 and 5 year old for 10 minutes.

Actually these weren’t made by them. There are a lot of these around the nation. We even had one at a grocery store. Also Disney copies lots of people so it goes both ways, and I’m glad for cheaper places throughout the country that you can take your family to. Some people can’t be as lucky as you. 🙂 So relax and spend time enjoying things instead of ripping them apart
