Featured on our last live movie night, this is our video restoration of a home movie from November 1987. We start off with a great pan around the waterfall that used to be featured in the lobby of the Polynesian. Next up are some great shots from the Polynesian beach with a view of the Grand Floridian under construction. Over at the Contemporary, a beautiful sunrise shot shot from the rooftop observation deck is followed by a view from above of the Grand Canyon Concourse. There are lots of shots of the monorail riding through, as well as pans of the pool and dock area.
Nice! WDW was far better then. They have ruined much of this feel and ambiance.
I noticed at the 1:51 mark we see the Magic Kingdom ferry on the Seven Seas Lagoon, and it looks like it’s about to dock at the Polynesian Village dock. Does anyone know why one of the ferries would dock at a resort, and was it ever a regular thing?
