Today we head back to the early 90s and take you on a couple of tours of the original Vacation Club Resort. The quality here is pretty amazing, considering our photographer had a tripod to make some nice smooth shots and quality zooms. The first video here is from 1992 when the resort was less than a year old. We get to see nearly every highlight of the resort back then and if this is your home resort, you will see some great footage from the early years. Take note of the pools, grounds, and shops – all of these places are covered in this nearly 20-minute video tour of the entire resort.
Second, we have a pretty rare treat. This is a detailed room tour and walks around of the 3-bedroom grand villa, from what I can gather anyways. The tripod is also present in this video and you get shots of the different bedrooms, the decor, some balcony shots and of course the kitchen. When you look back on this, you have to remember this was 1993 and the rooms of today are far better at other resorts. Old Key West has gone through some revisions since this was shot, but if you compare this video tour to the new stuff, the layout and even some of the design elements remain today. For Vacation Club owners, renters and fans – this is a great historic reference for the original resort. Enjoy!
Back then, when you checked in, they’d ask how many people were in your party and how long you were staying. Then they’d hand you park tickets based on your response; park hoppers for your entire trip.
