Disneyland Dream – 1956 – Restored

This is a portion of the Disneyland Dream film from the Center for Home Movies collection. The Library of Congress has placed this film in the National Archives as well. We only restored a portion of the 30 minute film; specifically the footage of Disneyland from 1956 to demonstrate our restoration techniques. The original film, which also includes a voice over audio track, can be found here https://archive.org/details/barstow_disneyland_dream_1956

“In July 1956, the five-member Barstow family of Wethersfield, Connecticut, won a free trip to newly-opened Disneyland in Anaheim, California, in a nationwide contest. This 30-minute amateur documentary film tells the fabulous story of their fun-filled, dream-come-true, family travel adventure, filmed on the scene at Walt Disney’s “Magic Kingdom” by Robbins Barstow”.

If your curious what the before and after looks like, you can see a short clip comparing the two here.

Without further ado, we present the restored Disneyland Dream from 1956.
