Crossroads shopping center was developed in the late 1980’s at the end of Hotel Plaza Boulevard on a sliver of land Disney owned just across the intersection of I-4 and 535. Among the many restaurants and tourism-centric shops that occupied the center over the years was the anchor supermarket Gooding’s. Once numerous in central Florida, the Crossroads Shopping Center location was the last Gooding’s standing when it closed during the pandemic — never to reopen again.
Disney announced plans to to bulldoze the shopping center a few years ago to build new traffic patterns that would alleviate some of the gridlock that grips the area pretty much at all hours of the day and night.
In any event, this brochure from the Disney Development Company gives you a rarely seen look at how they marketed the project. Enjoy.
Disney actually sold this property several years ago.
